Lecture 3: Abstract Art

A dot crates no space and volume. Even with lots of dots there's no difference.

Line is a dot in motion and it represents motion. We need lines to create directions to perceive.
Horizontal lines create a calming ans soothing feeling. Vertical lines create movement and perspective. Curved lines create a feeling of tension and energy, but wavy lines create a soothing feeling. Jagged lines have tension in them and seem more aggressive.

Surface is a line in movement and it shows shape and texture of what's being shown.

We can create a vision of depth by many ways. For example lines, size differences, shadows/lights, overlaps, sharp/blurry parts on an object and color differences talked in lecture 2 can create feeling of depth.

When we look at pictures, the perceiving is intuitive and fast. That's why we can alter the idea of something by showing it in different ways:
